2011
With these changes, the monthly bill of a typical NW Natural residential customer using 55 therms per month will decrease by $1.64, or 2.4%, from $67.47 to $65.83. In January, a typical residential customer’s consumption of 106 therms will result in a billing decrease of $3.15, or 2.5%, from 124.46 to $121.31.
 
With these changes, the monthly bill of a typical Avista residential customer using 48 therms per month will increase by $0.09, or 0.1 percent, from $62.16 to $62.25.  In January, a typical residential customer’s consumption of 94 therms will result in a billing increase of $0.17, or 0.1 percent, from $115.02 to $115.19. 
 
With these changes, the monthly bill of a typical residential customer using 56 therms per month will decrease by $4.03, or 6.55 percent, from $61.61 to $57.58.  In January, a typical residential Cascade customer’s consumption of 118 therms will result in a billing decrease of $8.50, or 6.7 percent, from $126.50 to $118.00. 
 

2010 
The monthly bill of a typical NW Natural residential customer using 55 therms per month will decrease by $0.89, or 1.3 percent, from $67.74 to $66.85.  In January, a typical residential customer’s consumption of 110 therms will result in a billing decrease of $1.77, or 1.4 percent, from $129.48 to $127.71.
 
With these changes, the monthly bill of a typical Avista residential customer using 46 therms per month will decrease by $1.63, or 2.7 percent, from $59.77 to $58.14.  In January, a typical residential customer’s consumption of 94 therms will result in a billing decrease of $3.31, or 2.9 percent, from $115.12 to $111.81.
 
The monthly bill of a typical Cascade residential customer using 57 therms per month will decrease by $3.14, or 4.8 percent, from $65.80 to $62.66.  In January, a typical residential customer’s consumption of 161 therms will result in a billing decrease of $8.86, or 4.9 percent, from $180.37 to $171.51.

 
2009
The average NW Natural residential customer using 55 therms will experience a drop in their monthly bill of $14.96 or 18.1%.  In January, a typical residential customer’s consumption of 109 therms will result in a billing decrease of $29.65, or 18.8%, from $157.93 to $128.28. The average commercial customer will experience a decrease in their monthly bill of approximately 21.1%.
 
The monthly bill of a typical Avista Utilities residential customer using 52 therms per month will decrease by $15.99, or 20.7 percent, from $77.43 to $61.44. In January, a typical residential customer’s consumption of 104 therms will result in a billing decrease of $31.98 or 21.5%, from $148.86 to $116.88. The average commercial customer will experience a decrease in their monthly bill of approximately 23.5%.
 
The monthly bill of a typical Cascade Natural Gas Corporation residential customer using 56 therms per month will decrease by $9.80, or 13.2%, from $74.49 to $64.69. In January, a typical residential customer’s consumption of 121 therms will result in a billing decrease of $21.16, or 13.4%, from $157.46 to $136.30. The average commercial customer will experience a decrease in their monthly bill of approximately 15.3%.
 
2008
NW Natural residential rates will increase by 14.3%, Cascade by 5.4%, and Avista Utilities will fall by 2.9% effective November 1, 2008.
 
With these changes, the monthly bill of a typical NW Natural residential customer using 56 therms of gas per month will increase by $10.67, from $74.57 to $85.24.  In January, when bills are typically higher, a residential customer using 109 therms of gas will result in a billing increase from $139.47 to $160.24. 
 
The monthly bill of a typical Cascade residential customer using 59 therms of gas per month will increase by $4.00, from $74.32 to $78.32.  In January, a typical residential customer’s consumption of 113 therms of gas will result in a billing increase from $139.60 to $147.25. 
 
The monthly bill of a typical Avista residential customer using 53 therms of gas per month will decrease by $2.32, from $80.07 to $77.75.  In January, a typical residential customer’s consumption of 100 therms will result in a billing decrease from $146.19 to $141.38. 
 
2007
The monthly bill of a typical NW Natural residential customer using 56 therms per month decreased by $6.50, or 8.0%, from $81.07 to $74.57.  In January, a typical residential customer’s consumption of 112 therms would result in a billing decrease from $156.14 to $143.14. 
 
For Avista, with these changes, the monthly bill of a typical residential customer using 51 therms per month decreased by $1.02, or 1.3%, from $78.91 to $77.89.  In January, a typical residential customer’s consumption of 98 therms would result in a billing decrease from $147.03 to $145.06
 
The monthly bill of a typical Cascade residential customer using 60 therms per month increased by $0.59, or 0.8 percent, from $74.94 to $75.53.  In January, a typical residential customer’s consumption of 113 therms would result in a billing increase from $138.49 to $139.60. 
 
2006
The monthly bill for a typical Northwest Natural residential customer using 57 therms per month increased $2.78, or 3.5%, from $79.63 to $82.41. In January, a typical residential customer’s bill using 109 therms would result in a billing increase from $146.79 to $152.12. The change for commercial and industrial customers ranged from 3.8% to 6.4%.
 
With these changes, the monthly bill for a typical Cascade Natural Gas residential customer using 62 therms per month increased $5.73, or 7.9%, from $72.34 or $78.07. In January, a typical residential customer who uses 117 therms would result in a billing increase from $133.84 to $144.67.  The change for commercial and industrial customers ranged from 9.0% to 9.4%.  
 
The monthly bill for a typical Avista Utility residential customer using 52 therms per month increased $5.30, or 7.1%, from $75.06 or $80.36. In January, a typical residential customer who uses 98 therms would result in a billing increase from $137.03 to $147.03. The change for commercial and industrial customers ranged from 7.9% to 8.3%.
 
2005
The monthly bill of a typical NW Natural residential customer using 59 therms per month increased by $10.85, or 15.2%, from $71.36 to $82.21.  In January, a typical residential customer's consumption of 122 therms would result in a billing increase from $141.16 to $163.58.  Commercial and industrial customers saw a rate increase of from 16.6% to 18.5%.  Northwest Natural serves about 517,708 customers.
 
The monthly bill of a typical Avista residential customer using 53 therms per month increased by $13.69, or 21.9%, from $62.61 to $76.30.  In January, a typical residential customer's consumption of 114 therms would result in a billing increase from $128.91 to $158.37.  Rates for industrial and commercial customers increased from 25.1% to 26.8%.  Avista serves about 84,892 customers in LaGrande, Grants Pass, Medford, Klamath Falls and Roseburg.
 
The monthly bill of a typical Cascade residential customer of using 63 therms per month increased by $8.74, or 13.5%,from $64.71 to $73.45.  In January, a typical residential customer's consumption of 131 therms would result in a billing increase from $131.31 to $149.50.  Commercial and industrial customers saw a rate increase of 15.6% to 16.5%. Cascade serves approximately 48,338 customers in Central and Northeastern Oregon.
 
2004
The monthly bill for a typical residential customer of Northwest Natural who uses 56 therms increased by $10.40.  The typical customer’s average monthly bill went from $57.64 to $68.04, an increase of 18%.  In January, a typical residential customer’s consumption of 135 therms resulted in a billing increase from $130.49 to $155.56.  Commercial and industrial customers saw a rate increase of between 20.3 to 20.6 percent.  Northwest Natural serves about 517,708 customers.
 
The monthly bill for a typical residential customer of Avista who used 55 therms increased by $7.11.  The typical customer’s average monthly bill went from $ 57.67 to $64.78, an increase of 12.3%.  In January a typical residential customer’s use of 114 therms resulted in a billing increase from $106.22 to $128.91.  Rates for industrial and commercial customers increased from 14.8 to 15.8 percent.  Avista serves about 84,892 customers in LaGrande, Grants Pass, Medford, Klamath Falls and Roseburg.
 
The monthly bill for a typical residential customer of Cascade who uses 61 therms increased by $4.60.   The typical customer’s average bill went from $58.15 to $62.75, an increase of 7.9%.  In January, a typical residential customer’s use of 137 therms resulted in a billing increase from $126.85 to $137.19.  Commercial and industrial customers saw an increase of 9.2 to 9.7 percent. Cascade serves approximately 48,338 customers in Central and Northeastern Oregon.
 
2003
The monthly bill for a typical residential customer of Northwest Natural who uses 61.5 therms increased by 4.5%.  The typical customer’s bill went from $60.04 to $62.71, an increase of $2.67.  In January, a typical residential customer’s consumption of 131 therms resulted in a billing increase from $121.11 to $126.80.  Commercial and industrial customers saw an increase of between 4.9 to 5.6 percent.   Northwest Natural customers received an overall 1.1 percent increase September 1, 2003 due to a general rate case.  Northwest Natural serves about 501,224 customers.
 
Residential bills for Avista’s customers increased by 12.25%.  The bill for a typical residential customer using 55 therms per month went from $43.09 to $48.37, an increase of $5.28.  The January bill for a typical residential customer increased $10.55 over last January’s bill.  Rates for industrial and commercial customers increased from 14.5 to 15.4 percent.  Avista serves about 82,264 customers in LaGrande, Grants Pass, Medford, Klamath Falls and Roseburg.
 
The monthly bill for a typical residential customer of Cascade who uses 63 therms increased by 1.9%.  The typical customer’s bill went from $58.82 to $59.95, an increase of $1.13.  In January, a typical residential customer’s use of 131 therms resulted in a billing increase from $119.07 to $121.43.  Commercial and industrial customers saw an increase of 2.0 to 2.6 percent.  Cascade serves approximately 46,910 customers in Central and Northeastern Oregon.
 
2002
The monthly bill for a typical residential customer of Northwest Natural who used 59.8 therms decreased by $6.79 or, 10.5%.  A typical customer’s bill dropped to $57.80 from $64.59.  Commercial customers received a 14.9 percent rate decrease.  Northwest Natural serves approximately 486,017 customers.  Northwest Natural’s adjustment includes the effects of a recently approved elasticity mechanism, bill payment assistance and public purpose charges order, which slightly offset the amount of Northwest Natural’s decrease.
 
The adjustment reduced Avista residential bills by 7%.  A typical residential customer using 54 therms per month saw a reduction of $3.18 toward a lower monthly bill of $42.15.  Commercial customers received an 8.2% rate decrease.  This is in addition to a Commission approved 15.3 percent overall decrease that went into effect April 2, 2002.  Avista serves approximately 80,285 customers in Southern Oregon.
 
The Commission decision also cut Cascade residential bills by 2.5%.  The monthly bill for a typical customer using 62 therms per month dropped by $1.51, to $57.93 from $59.44. Commercial customers received a 3.9% rate decrease.  Cascade serves approximately 45,265 customers in Central and Northeastern Oregon.
